Pit Bull That Rescued Owner From Oncoming Train Released From Hospital
BOSTON (CBS) - Lilly the Pit Bull, the dog that lost its leg while saving its owner from an oncoming train, was released from Angell Animal Medical Center on Saturday.
Lilly's heroics attracted international attention as more than $75,000 in donations poured in to help pay for her care. She also received cards, letters of support, toys, and food from strangers around the world.
A hospital spokesperson says Lilly will be permanently moving in with the owner's son David Lanteigne, the Boston Police officer who had adopted her three years ago as a therapy dog for his mother.
