This Philly Christmas Tree Lot Roasted The Eagles Pretty Good

By Matt Dolloff (@mattdolloff)

BOSTON (CBS) -- Even small businesses know that social media is a great way to earn free publicity. This Christmas tree lot in the Philadelphia area knows that you can get it by putting a meme-able joke with viral potential on your sign, so they decided to poke fun at the 4-7 Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles have lost their last two games by a combined score of 90-31, and now they have to play a pissed off Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in Foxboro. Things could get ugly.

The sign reads "Our trees are freshly cut; most of the Eagles should be too." The Eagles roster has clearly underperformed (or maybe they really are that bad), but that statement is an indictment on head coach Chip Kelly more than anyone else.

Kelly was given almost Belichickian control over Eagles personnel in the offseason, and made a flurry of moves in a deep roster overhaul. He rebuilt the Eagles in the way he wanted, and he's falling on his face - not a good look.

Expect more volleys from Philly if and when they get blown out for a third straight week.
