Phantom Gourmet: Wichit On Newbury Street
BOSTON (CBS) – When it's time for lunch, why just eat it, when you can Wichit?
Located on Boston's Newbury Street, Wichit is cool and cozy spot serving luxury sandwiches at prices anyone can afford.
"Wichit is a specialty sandwich shop featuring all natural sandwiches, locally baked artisan breads, we roast all our meats," owner Chris Young said. "We make our own sauces, we make our own hand-cut fries, and really fun and creative combinations of sandwiches."
Combinations include New York strip steak with melted Swiss cheese and caramelized onions, fire-grilled pears with brie and dried cranberries, and tempura chicken with sweet potato fries.
It's all sandwiches all the time at Wichit, because owner Young thinks they are the perfect food.
"Sandwiches are the best meal," Young said. "You can eat it anywhere, you can have it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can dress it up, like for instance we use New York strip steak, we put that in our sandwiches, you can dress it down like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It's just the best meal."
