Phantom Gourmet: Freestones City Grill In New Bedford
BOSTON (CBS) - Looking for a great meal that won't break the bank? Then look no further than Freestones.
Located along the cobblestone streets of historic New Bedford, Freestones City Grill is a cozy local favorite housed in a former bank building that dates back to 1877.
And since it's an old bank, it only makes sense that you'll save plenty of money here. Because with appetizers averaging only eight bucks and entrees well south of twenty, General Manager Joe Costa says no place gives a bigger bang for your buck.
Appetizers are a study in melty cheesy goodness; like the smothered French onion soup... and the shareable Swiss fondue.
There are burgers... sandwiches... and a lobster roll that explodes with meat.
In fact, since Freestones is just feet from the ocean, all the seafood is bountiful and fresh, from the seared sea scallops to the cedar plank salmon. But nothing illustrates what this place is all about like the surf and turf.
Featuring two massive baked stuffed shrimp and a juicy hand cut filet, with potato and veggies, for less than eighteen dollars!
