Peter Limone, Framed For Murder He Didn't Commit, Dies At 83
BOSTON (CBS) - A reputed mobster who spent 33 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit has passed away.
In 2007, a federal judge ruled the FBI framed Peter Limone and another man.
He ordered them free and awarded Limone a $26 million settlement.
WBZ's Dan Rea investigated the case since 1993 and was instrumental in getting the conviction overturned.
Limone lost a five-year battle with cancer Monday. He was 83 years old.
