Job Fair For The Visually Impaired Held In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) - As unemployment hovers around eight percent for the general population, among the visually impaired it is more like 70 percent.
Two dozen employers participated in a job fair for the visually impaired at the Boston Waterfront Thursday.
From banks, to universities, hotels and even state offices, employers were out looking for able employees, regardless of their ability to see.

"Some of the employers, not all, but a majority still don't understand the aspect of the visual impairment world," Ellen from Scituate said.
William from Mattapan says sometimes employers don't understand that there is plenty of technology that allows those who can't see, perform in the workplace.
"I think there is also a fear that you, as a disabled person, are going to cost us," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030''s Ben Parker.
