Periods of Light Snow

Periods of light snow will continue to back into Southern New England as we are on the western fringe of a massive ocean storm.  Heavy snow affected isolated areas across Southeastern Massachusetts, and there will be light additional accumulations (mainly along the Coastal Plain) thru Wednesday night.  The end of the week will be quieter, and temperatures will only be a couple of degrees below the average.

*Christmas Weekend*...Models continue to hint at a low pressure system reaching the Mid-Atlantic states later this weekend, bombogenesis occurring, and a big snowstorm setting up shop Sunday into midday Monday.  The exact track and potential snowfall amounts are still hard to 'nail down'.  The GFSx shows the heaviest precipitation occuring from Saturday night thru early Monday morning, but the EURO show the system taking a more southerly track and producing heavy snow from Sunday evening thru Monday night.  If this storm comes to fruition (regardless of the timing), models are depicting the potential for heavy snowfall (and possibly a wintry mix to kick off th precipitation).
