Sox Aquire 2B Patterson
Dustin Pedroia was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday after an MRI revealed a nondisplaced fracture in his right foot. Pedroia is currently wearing a walking boot and estimates his recovery will take 2-6 weeks. The Red Sox reacted to the prognosis by aquiring utility man Eric Patterson from the Oakland Athletics. Boston sent minor league pitcher Fabian Williamson to Oakland for Patterson who can play second base and the outfield.
