Man Hit, Killed On Memorial Drive In Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – A person was hit and killed by a car on Memorial Drive in Cambridge during rush hour Tuesday morning, according to State Police.
It happened on the eastbound side of the road around 7 a.m. just east of the Mass. Ave. Bridge.
The driver of the Honda Accord stopped and the man who was hit was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died.
No names have been released.
State Police said the driver is a 24-year-old man from Brighton.
The man who was hit is 50-years-old and from Boston. State police said they do not know why he was walking on the road.
Memorial Drive eastbound was closed for about two hours for the investigation.
