Peabody mom facing DUI charge
A Peabody mother is being held on $5,000 dollars bail on drunk driving and child endangerment charges. Prosecutors say Cheri Cordero, 40, was intoxicated when she allegedly ordered her 11-year-old son out of her SUV and left him on a road in Salem Sunday night.
Bystanders called police and comforted the boy after his mother allegedly left him alone on White Street and drove off with his 9-year-old brother.
The 11-year-old reportedly told police his mother had been drinking beer and mixed drinks at a party on a friend's boat and started screaming at her sons after getting into an argument with her boyfriend.
