Patriots Welker Sets New Franchise Records
BOSTON (CBS) - It only took Wes Welker two plays to get his first catch of the afternoon in Buffalo, giving the Patriots receiver a new franchise record.
Welker has caught a pass in 64 straight games for the Patriots, surpassing tight end Ben Coates' streak of 63.

Welker finished the game with career highs in receptions (16) and receiving yards (217). His 217 yards also set a new franchise record, topping Terry Glenn's 214 yards in October 1999 .
The records were overshadowed by the Patriots 34-31 loss to the Bills though.
"What should be a great fun day of breaking records and doing all of those things is totally opposite," said Welker after the game. "It shows that we have a long ways to go and we have to step up across the board and make plays. We have to understand that we can't play like this."
Welker has caught a pass in all 68 games he has played with New England, including four postseason games. He has an overall streak of 80 games, dating back to his time with the Miami Dolphins.

The last time Welker went without a catch was in December 24, 2005 while with the Miami Dolphins.
