Patriots Training Camp Blog: Clock Ticking To Cut Downs
FOXBORO (CBS) - Preseason game number one is under their belts and now the New England Patriots, the players and the rest of the rest of the league is on the clock.
On August 30th, every team in the NFL will have to cut their rosters from 90 to 75 players. That means roughly 450 players will be released. Then teams have to get down to 53 players just five days later.
The Patriots currently have 11 receivers and 19 defensive lineman on the team. Expect at least a few cuts to come from that portion of the depth chart.
