Patriots Trade 29th Pick To Vikings For Four Picks
BOSTON (CBS) -- Patriots fans who stayed up late Thursday night to find out which player the team would draft were left out in the cold, as the Patriots traded the 29th pick of the to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Patriots received four picks -- a second (52nd overall), third (83rd overall), fourth (102nd overall) and seventh (229).
The Vikings used the Patriots' pick to draft Cordarrelle Patterson, a wide receiver out of Tennessee.
The second and third rounds of the draft will take place Friday night, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Rounds four through seven will take place Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.
Last year, New England made two first-round selections -- Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower --by trading their first- and third-round pick to move up to get Cincinnati's pick at No. 21 and trading another first- and a fourth-round pick to Denver for the 25th pick.
The Patriots entered the night owning one pick in each of the first three rounds (Nos. 29, 59 and 91 overall) and a pair of picks in the seventh round (No2. 226, 235).
