Brady Gives Update On Cold: 'I Feel A Lot Better'
BOSTON (CBS) -- The fact that Tom Brady has a cold nearly broke the internet on Wednesday.
The good news is that after a day of running around on the practice field and a good night's rest (with plenty of garlic in between), the Patriots quarterback is feeling better.
Brady still sounded congested as he fielded questions from reporters on Thursday, but he's very confident that he'll be back to full health in time for the Super Bowl on Sunday.
"I've been through it plenty of times. It's the winter month and it kind of ran through my house. I'm glad it happened early in the week and I feel a lot better," Brady said Thursday at the team hotel. "It was good to run around yesterday and I'll be 100 percent on Sunday. I'll be ready to go."
Much like he's downplaying his cold, he also downplayed the reported fire alarms that have been going off at the team's hotel. One went off early Tuesday morning, and another reportedly went off in the wee hours of Thursday morning, though it was reportedly in a section of the hotel away from the team.
If an alarm did sound either morning, Brady didn't hear them.
"I must be sleeping through it, so that's good," he replied.
Maybe it was the NyQuil?
In between his media obligations, practice sessions and, of course, cold-busting naps, Brady has been hard at work dissecting the talented Seattle defense. He's been breaking down film, watching each of Seattle's games this season, and knows what he's going up against on Sunday is a lot mightier than clogged sinuses.
"They have a great defense. There is nothing easy about anything they do," he said of the Seahawks. "They have players who play their role and are very disciplined, they're very smart and well-coached. They don't make anything easy so you have to run good routes and make good throws in tight windows. They have a lot of eyes on the quarterback. You have to be conscience of those things, and still play aggressively and play with confidence.
"They challenge you, and it's a grind. It's a test of wills and hopefully we can play as best as we can," said Brady. "The margin of error, there is no real margin of error so we have to play our best."
