Brady, Beckham Swap Jerseys After Preseason Finale

BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady had promised to exchange jerseys with Odell Beckham Jr. last season, but for whatever reason, the swap never took place.

Lucky for Beckham, not only did Brady travel with the Patriots for their preseason finale against the Giants, he also played the first half. So when the Patriots quarterback and Giants receiver met up after Thursday night's game, the almost year-long promise was finally fulfilled and the two players now have another piece of memorabilia to add to their collection.

"I promised him a jersey and forgot," Brady said after the 17-9 Giants win. "He's a great young player and I love watching him. It's the kind of things you do these days in the NFL."

"Just kind of messing with him. I asked him if my jersey got lost in the mail; or what was going on with it," Beckham joked. "He was like, 'I got you after the game.' So it's pretty cool."

Patriots team policy doesn't allow for jersey exchanges to take place on the field, so Brady delivered it behind the scenes. But cameras caught the moment after the game when Beckham signed and gave Brady his jersey, and the two competitors chatted for a bit before leaving the field.

"Any time you get a chance to talk to somebody like that, he's made the playoffs for a very long time," Beckham told reporters.
