Tebow On Hernandez: 'Heartbreaking And Sad'
FOXBORO (CBS) - If "Tebow Mania" wasn't enough, add in the fact that he was college teammates with Aaron Hernandez, and Day 1 of Patriots Training Camp was one busy day for Tim Tebow.
Tebow threw some passes and even caught a few, but he couldn't dodge questions about his former teammate's arrest for murder on Wednesday. But while his passes on the field weren't too crisp, he did display some nice tiptoeing with the media after practice.
"It's just heartbreaking and sad and all my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that were involved," said Tebow, who was teammates with Hernandez from 2007-2009 at the University of Florida.
He knew more questions were coming, but that was all he would say about Hernandez.
"I understand why you have to ask all the questions, that's part of doing your job. Part of mine is listening to instruction and we've been told not to talk about it," he said with a smile.

Brandon Spikes, another former Hernandez teammate at Florida, would have liked to have commented on the situation, but did not.
"No comment. I can't really comment," he said of his former college and NFL teammate. "I want to, but I can't."
