Patriots Select Northwestern Wide Receiver Jeremy Ebert With Team's Final Pick Of NFL Draft
BOSTON (CBS) -- After using their first six picks in the 2012 NFL Draft to select defensive players, Bill Belichick and the Patriots went to the other side of the ball for their seventh and final pick.
The Patriots selected Northwestern wide receiver Jeremy Ebert with their final selection, pick No. 235 in the seventh round.
Ebert is 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, and he's coming off a 2011 season in which he made 75 receptions for 1,060 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his four-year career, he caught 173 passes for 2,400 yards and 21 touchdowns.
The pick was acquired in a trade with Green Bay earlier in the day. In exchange for sending pick No. 163 to Green Bay, the Patriots received picks Nos. 197, 224 and 235.
