Patriots-Saints Will Reportedly Hold Joint Practices

BOSTON (CBS) -- The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints will once again share a practice field this preseason.

The Patriots and Saints will hold joint practices ahead of their August 22 preseason game, according to ProFootballTalk.com. They'll share the field for three days at The Greenbrier resort in West Virginia, where the Saints practiced for three weeks in 2014, and then travel to Louisiana for their Saturday night preseason tilt.

The Patriots and Saints also practiced together in Foxboro in 2010 and 2012, and both teams praised the experience as a great way to break up the monotony of training camp -- and the benefit of hitting someone other than your teammates.

Maybe this time around, Tom Brady can chat with Saints head coach Sean Payton about his battle with Roger Goodell over the BountyGate scandal a few years back. And it will be very interesting to hear what Brandon Browner has to say to his old teammates, both on and off the field.

The joint practice has become much more common over the last few years, with the Patriots holding joint sessions with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins last summer.

The Patriots open their preseason on August 13 against the Green Bay Packers at Gillette, and it has been speculated that the Pats and Packers could also hold joint practices leading up to that game.

Tune in Patriots preseason football on WBZ-TV and 98.5 The Sports Hub -- the flagship stations of the New England Patriots.
