Patriots Release Offensive Lineman Mark LeVoir
BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots have released veteran offensive linemane Mark LeVoir on Wednesday, the team announced in a release.
The 29-year-old LeVoir was claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Rams in 2008. He was originally signed as a rookie free-agent out of Notre Dame by the Chicago Bears in 2006.
The 6-7, 310-pound tackle played in 32 games and made two starts in three seasons with the Patriots. He played in six games in 2010, including the divisional playoff game against the New York Jets.
Rookie Steve Maneri has been impressive during training camp, and could have taken the veteran LeVoir's roster spot.
The Patriots now have 17 offensive linemen on their roster.
