Patriots Receive Two Compensatory Draft Picks
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots received a pair of compensatory draft picks on Monday, giving them nine total selections in the 2015 NFL Draft.
New England received a third round pick (97th overall) and seventh round pick (253rd overall) as compensation for losing free agents LeGarrette Blount, Dane Fletcher, Brandon Spikes and Aqib Talib in 2014. They now have five of the first 101 picks in draft.
Here is a breakdown of New England's selections in the draft, which will begin April 30 in Chicago.
First Round: 32nd overall
Second Round: 64th overall
Third Round: 96th overall, 97th overall
Fourth Round: 101st overall, 131st overall
Sixth Round: 177th overall
Seventh Round: 219th overall, 253rd overall
The Patriots sent their fifth round pick to Tampa Bay for linebacker Jonathan Casillas.
