Patriots Minicamp Day 2: Williams Injured, Ninkovich Moved, And More
BOSTON (CBS) -- The summer heat was absent from the Patriots practice field for Day 2 of minicamp on Wednesday, and so was Rob Gronkowski.
The All-Pro tight end was not on the field, nursing what's been reported as being a minor injury, for the second straight day. Here's what else went down on the practice field outside of Gillette Stadium.
Fisticuffs
Center Bryan Stork and rookie Woodrow Hamilton got into a scuffle toward the end of practice, with both players getting ending up getting sent off the field.
Williams Injured
Tight end Michael Williams suffered an apparent leg injury. The regular season is obviously three months away, but injuries are never a welcome sight on the football field.
Long At DE, Ninkovich At LB
The arrival of free agent Chris Long has, for the time being, moved Rob Ninkovich into a linebacker's role, moving him off the defensive line.
Ignore The Noise
With no fans in attendance, the coaches tried to pump up the volume and increase the level of difficulty of on-field communication by blasting some music over the speakers.
