Patriots Inactives: Woodhead Active, Vollmer, Mayo Out
FOXBORO (CBS) -Running back Danny Woodhead is active for the New England Patriots on Sunday when they take on the Dallas Cowboys.
Woodhead was not one of the seven Patriots listed as inactive against the Cowboys. The Patriots running back was listed as questionable on Friday's practice report with an ankle injury.
He did not play in the Patriots 31-20 win over the New York Jets last week. Woodhead has 115 rushing yards on 26 attempts this season.
The following players are inactive for Sunday's game:
Safety Josh Barrett
Safety Sergio Brown
Corner Ras-I Dowling
Wide Receiver Julian Edelman
Quarterback Ryan Mallett
Linebacker Jerod Mayo
Offensive Lineman Sebastian Vollmer.
The Patriots secondary will be thin, going with their top two safeties being Patrick Chung and James Ihedigbo. Ross Ventrone will likely see some game action off the bench.
Vollmer has missed all but one game so far this season with a back injury. This will put rookie Nate Solder in a crucial position again, trying to block the Cowboys pass-rush of DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer.
