Belichick Keeping His Eye On The Prize
FOXBORO (CBS) -- Bill Belichick's focus is in championship form.
During his press conference the other day, there were many questions dealing with reflection on this season. Bill would have none of it. He basically pushed those questions aside and said the team is not done. That's exactly what you want from your head coach. His focus is on that championship.
It will be great to see Taylor Price get out there and play. Price has been sidelined with a sore ankle but he's been practicing and hopes to challenge for a spot next season. It will be good to see if he can take what he's learned on the practice field and apply those reps in the game.
It looks like it will be one-and-done for former Patriots offensive coordinator and current Kansas City Chiefs play-caller Charlie Weis, with Weis reportedly heading to the University of Florida as offensive coordinator. From afar, it seemed like a great situation for Weis on Todd Haley's staff, but the move now looks like a case of two strong personalities clashing.
The Patriots have held opponents to 39 first-quarter points this season, which reflects how they have avoided getting into an early hole, often allowing them to play games on their terms.
Only three other teams are better (Cleveland, Green Bay, New Orleans). The Patriots have outscored foes 89-39 in the opening quarter.
