Patriots Hit Field For Only Practice During Bye Week
BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots will hit the practice field Thursday afternoon for the only time during their Bye Week, as head coach Bill Belichick is giving his team some time to rest and recoup from the first half of the season.
Following Thursday's practice, the Pats will get the weekend and Monday off from practice.
Thursday also marks the first time the media has been able to speak with New England since their return from London earlier this week, giving them a chance to check up on the team's health.
From early reports from the locker room, it appears most players are healthy despite being a bit dinged up over the first two months of the season.
ESPN's Mike Reiss Tweeted that receiver Wes Welker looked fine as he walked through the locker room, and it doesn't appear the ankle injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of New England's 45-7 win over the Rams in London on Sunday is very serious.
The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe Tweeted that running back Brandon Bolden, who has been sidelined the last two weeks with a knee injury, was walking through the locker room without crutches.
The Patriots released corner Sterling Moore on Wednesday, but his locker was still intact Thursday morning according to Reiss. This leaves the possibility that Moore could return to the Patriots should he clear waivers at 4 pm Thursday afternoon.
The Patriots next play on November 11 when they host the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium.
