Gronkowski Thought He Had A Touchdown

BOSTON (CBS)  -  Rob Gronkowski  has five touchdowns on the season, but he should have six.

The Patriots tight end, and nearly all of New England, is positive he was in the end zone with four minutes to go in the fourth quarter of New England's 25-17 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.

"Yeah I was. Yep," Gronkowski said when asked if he was in the end zone.

While he was hoping the team would challenge the play, he understands why head coach Bill Belichick didn't throw the red flag.

"It's such a quick situation. That was the call, we just have to move on," Gronkowski after the game. "We needed the timeouts, so you can't even risk it. I mean, that's what the referee called, so we just moved on. We eventually scored, which is good, but, throughout whole game, we got to play as a team better, we got to execute better out there."

Gronkowski made the catch and it looked as though the tight end was in the end zone. The ref called it otherwise, setting up a third and one for New England with the clock ticking. As Tom Brady changed the play numerous times at the line, more time kept coming off the clock but no flag was thrown.

"I thought about it, but there was no evidence to challenge it," Belichick said of the non-challenge after the game. "I certainly couldn't see it from my angle and they replayed the play in the box. There was nothing to tell us."

"It's not really up to me," said Brady when asked of the play. "I don' know how it looked on TV."

When told it was close, Brady responded, "I wish they'd have reviewed it. But they didn't."
