Patriots First Quarter Highs And Lows
BOSTON (CBS) - WBZ-TV's Levan Reid is breaking down the New England Patriots second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarter-by-quarter. Here are the highs and lows from the first quarter.
The Highs:
The Patriots defense starts first and they force Tampa into a three and out. Jerod Mayo and Kyle Love with strong plays.
The Pats offense gets on the field, and Tom Brady and the first team just dominate. 5 plays, 64 yards, a 16-yard strike to Aaron Hernandez for a touchdown. Danny Woodhead also had a big play on that drive. He reversed the field in a run and picked up 28 yards.
The Pats defense still very strong. Second Buccaneers possession and they hold them to another three and out. The Pats look very good.

On their second possession, the New England offense scored again on just eight plays, capped off with a touchdown pass to Chad Ochocinco. No dance by Chad by the way, but it's still early. Aaron Hernandez caught a 15-yard grab on a key third down to keep the drive alive. Did I mention the Pats look very good?
Pats defense was rocking again their third time out. They are getting a ton of pressure on quarterback Josh Freeman, who is running for his life.
Pats offense took the field again, and Belichick used both Brian Hoyer and Brady on this drive, with the Pats cruising once again. BenJarvus Green-Ellis finished the drive off with a one yard run for a touchdown.
The Lows:
Chad and Bill Belichick were seen arguing on the sidelines. Not a big deal. Just Chad trying to get into the mix and he's having a tough time.
Patriots 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.
