Patriots Draft Arkansas Defensive End Jake Bequette With 90th Pick Of NFL Draft
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots drafted Arkansas defensive end Jake Bequette with the 90th pick of the NFL Draft in the third round on Friday night.
The 6-foot-5, 271-pound Bequette is scouted to be versatile to play the end in a 4-3 or an outside linebacker in a 3-4. He registered 10 sacks last season and 23.5 overall in his college career.
The Pats acquired the pick from Green Bay earlier in the evening in exchange for their second-round pick, 62nd overall. Green Bay also sent a fifth-round pick to New England in the deal.
The pick marks the fourth defensive player selected by New England, joining fellow 2012 Patriots draftees Chandler Jones, Dont'a Hightower and Tavon Wilson.
