Dennard Admits To Probation Violation, Sentencing Set For December 5
BOSTON (CBS) - New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard admitted in court on Monday that he violated his probation, and will learn his fate at a December 5 hearing.
Dennard was in court in Lincoln, Nebraska to determine if he violated his probation from a April 2012 incident when he was arrested in July on suspicion of driving under the influence. Dennard admitted to drinking two beers around 9 p.m. on July 11, and then driving his girlfriend's car four-and-a-half hours later, according to Lincoln Journal Star reporter Jonathan Edwards.
The Patriots corner was arrested later that evening.
The judge ordered an updated investigation on Dennard's behavior, according to Edwards, and the corner will be back in court on December 5 for sentencing.

Dennard was convicted of assaulting a police officer in April 2012, which carried a 30-day jail term he was set to serve in March 2014 if he stayed out of trouble. That could increase in December though, with the max penalty five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, according to Edwards.
Dennard was a seventh-round pick by the Patriots in 2012 and became a starter late in his rookie season. He recorded his first interception of the season on Thursday night in New England's 13-10 win over the New York Jets.
Dennard's sentencing comes between New England's Week 13 matchup with the Houston Texans, and Week 14 game against the Cleveland Browns.
The 24-year-old is also due in court on October 8 for his DUI case.
