Brady Recalls Good And Bad Memories In Miami
BOSTON (CBS) – There aren't too many places Tom Brady has played on the road and not enjoyed success.
But Miami is one of them.
Brady is just 5-5 for his career against the Dolphins on the road, which says a lot when he is 14-6 overall against Miami. Early on in his career, it seemed like Brady couldn't buy a win in sunny Florida. No matter what he did, it was always Jason Taylor or Sammy Knight coming up with a big play at Brady's expense, whether it be a strip sack or late-game interception.
In 2004, the 12-1 Patriots lost a shocker to the Dolphins on Monday Night Football, 29-28, thanks to a Brady interception with under four minutes left. Miami scored two touchdowns in the game's final 2:07 for the comeback victory, thanks mostly to the pass Brady threw while getting pressured by Taylor.
"I remember that," Brady said with a smirk on Wednesday. "Thanks for recalling that."
But they aren't all bad memories down in Miami. In 2003, Brady hit Troy Brown for an 82-yard touchdown in overtime to give New England a 19-13 win in Florida. It's a win Brady enjoys talking about much more than most of his games in Miami.
"There was a long streak of games where we had not won, and then we beat them on the pass to Troy. That was a very memorable day," he said. "We've had quite a few memorable days down there. Each game against this team has always been exciting."

Brady is 5-1 in his last six games in Miami, and the Brady-led Patriots haven't suffered a loss down South since 2009. The memories have been much better as of late, with Brady tossing for 517 yards and four touchdowns in New England's 38-24 season-opening win in 20011, which included a 99-yard touchdown to Wes Welker.
But given that this is Tom Brady, nothing that has happened in the past will have any bearing on Sunday's tilt. Brady is focused on getting in a good week of practice, not what he and his team has accomplished in the past. That includes last week's 49-19 drubbing of the Jets, and even his current hot streak where he's thrown 14 touchdowns and no interceptions since New England's 24-23 loss in Seattle.
"I don't think you can just assume that we're going to go play well next week. I think we have to go out and prove it," said Brady. "We have to go out and go through our week of practice and try to execute well in practice so that leads to confidence and anticipation going into the game, and then going out there and executing in the game."

"Last week's game is going to have no bearing on this week's game. That's not the way football works," he said. "Whether you win or lose, you have to put the previous week's game behind you and move on. We've had a few extra days to prepare. I think guys are really up to speed on what the Dolphins do defensively, the personnel and so forth, scheme-wise. Now it's just a matter of us going out there and having some good days of practice to see if we can get our timing and then go play a game."
