Patriots Blog: Tebow, Fox On Pats Defense
FOXBORO (CBS) - Denver Broncos Quarterback/Messiah Tim Tebow spoke Wednesday via conference call and it was a funny scene. A large group of media members crowded around the phone port to talk to the Broncos quarterback. Tebow opened up by sharing his thoughts about the Patriots defense.
"They're a very good defense. Obviously they're very well coached, from Coach Belichick," he answered. "They have a lot of playmakers. They create a lot of turnovers. They've been getting to the quarterback a lot and just find a way to make big plays, and keep teams from getting in the end zone. They might give up a little yardage here and there, but they always stand stout in the red area and find a way to come up with the big plays."

Tebow has done a great job this season but there was a chance this would have never happened. Before getting drafted by the Broncos, Tim had pre-draft meetings with the Patriots. If they would have drafted him, he probably would have been riding the pine right now instead of playing. He talked about the experience of coming to Foxboro and talking to the Pats.
"It was a great opportunity to get to know a great coach," Tebow said. "All those opportunities, pre-draft when I went to meet with teams and organizations, I know they were trying to get a feel for me but I was also trying to learn something each and every visit. Just to be around Coach Belichick and all those other great coaches in New England, I felt like it was a great opportunity to learn. I tried to take as much as I possibly could, to learn from a great coach, one of the best to coach. It was a phenomenal opportunity for me and I'm very grateful that he was that interested in me."
Fox Talks Patriots
Denver head coach John Fox also talked via conference call, and he had some interesting things to say about the Patriots. His view of the Pats defense was not as bad as people think.
"I think a lot is made of stats in this league. We don't put too much stock in that," he said. "I know they take the ball away very well, and in fact, as a team they're high up in the plus category in turnover margin. They're 10-3. It's a team game and they're good in all three phases. I don't look too much into stats. They have good players and they make plays."

His focus though was all about the offense. He knows the Pats can put points on the board quick and that's something they need to pay attention to.
"Being in this league for a while, they're definitely in the top three or four in the league and have been forever," Fox said, highlighting their impressive statistics. "When you have No. 12 operating it, you're going to be pretty successful. That's no different this year than years past."
