Patriots: Keys To Stopping Peyton
FOXBORO (CBS) - The Patriots defenders are all business in the locker room today. The guys realize the task at hand.
Peyton Manning is always a problem, no matter who he is throwing to. The Pats are coming off a 5 sack performance.
They would like to get that same production on Sunday.
"We can try to," Banta-Cain said. "It's a different team, different quarterback, different offensive line, different weapons. So we'll see how the game plays out how it's going to go, but hopefully we'll get the same results."
This game will be one where defensive disguise will be a premium. The Pats can not give away what they plan to do on the defensive line. Deception will be the key.
"It's very difficult [to trick him]," linebacker Jerod Mayo said. "He studies a lot of film. He's a great quarterback. But we have to try [to trick him]. We have to try to show him different looks, try to get a little pressure on him, send different people, and see what happens."
"He's a tough quarterback to try to confuse. He'll confuse you more than you'll confuse him," outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain said. "He's really good at what he does in picking out coverages."
