Patriots Blog: Pats Need To 'Stay Hungry, Stay Humble'
FOXBORO (CBS) - Here are some quick thought before today's playoff game against the Jets. There is a sign that the Patriots players see before they enter the Gillette. The sign reads "Stay hungry, stay humble." It's been their mantra this season.
When Patriots coach Bill Belichick dissected plays on "Patriots All-Access" this week, he highlighted Jets center Nick Mangold and Patriots left guard Logan Mankins. "Two of the best linemen in the game," Belichick said, in a remark that made me think the Patriots won't be letting Mankins walk as a free agent in the offseason (it will be the franchise tag or a contract extension).
I think the top need for the Patriots in the 2011 NFL draft is on the defensive line. They are scary thin entering today's playoff game, and even though some injured players figure to be back next season, more reinforcements are needed.
