Patriots Blog: Notes From The Final Public Day Of Camp
FOXBORO (CBS) - Here are some observations from Friday's Patriots practice:
Brandon Lloyd, Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady spent a lot of time on the side get some work in away from the group. Tom is trying to get in tune with his so-called first teamers and this is one way to do it. Not really sure why this was going on, but it does give the group more reps together. Lloyd afterwards said, they won't have much time to do that in the next couple of weeks, so take advantage of it now.
Wes Welker left practice early. No word yet on why but he didn't have any visible signs of an injury.
Stevan Ridley is out nursing an injury and Shane Vereen is using this opportunity to grab the work load. He is working with the first team and he is running well and catching the ball out of the back field without a problem. What we have seen from Shane the last couple of weeks is what everybody expected to see when he was drafted. He may get the start on Monday night against the Eagles.
Ty Law was at Friday's practice. He talked to the media, told everybody what he was doing and just reminisced about being a member of the team.
