Patriots Blog: McCourty On The Move?
BOSTON (CBS) - It's still very young in the season, but the Patriots secondary is becoming an increasing issue.
After last weeks game against the Seahawks, something may have to be done sooner than later.
Right now, the Patriots are playing without safety Steve Gregory and they are missing his veteran mind in the secondary. Gregory has been ruled out for the third straight week with a hip injury, which may pave the way for Devin McCourty to move from corner to safety.

The third year player said he's ready to do whatever his team asks.
"That's not my call. I'll do whatever coach decides," said McCourty, who spent time at safety last season. "On this team, you've got to be ready to go anywhere.
McCourty admitted the secondary needs to do a better job making plays, but spoke highly of the young players he has alongside him on the field.
Pats-Jets: Tale of the Tape
"We've got some young guys that I think are doing a great job of picking up the defense since they've been here," he said. "I think they've done a great job just responding and give them opportunities to show what they know and how they can play."
McCourty's move to safety could also mean more playing time for rookie corner Alfonzo Dennard, who saw extended time on the field in Seattle.
