Patriots Blog: Edelman Shows Shades Of Troy Brown
FOXBORO (CBS) - We haven't heard much from Julian Edelman since his arrest for indecent assault and battery on Halloween night.
Well after his play on Monday night, the Patriots receiver/kick returner/defensive back found reporters at his locker.
After 72-yard punt return for a touchdown and a tackle on defense, we saw shades of Mr. Everything, Troy Brown.
It is one comparison Edelman does not mind.
"I know Troy Brown pretty well, I've talked to him a couple times, and I know he's done a little bit of everything. He's like a Swiss Army knife. I know he's a stud," Edelman said.

One thing Brown has on his defensive resume that Edelman does not: an interception. If he keeps playing well on all sides of the ball, he might get a chance at one.
"It's definitely a new experience but like I said, whatever coach (Belichick) asks me to do, I'm going to go out there and try and do it," said the converted college quarterback.
Julian was guarded because of the looming legal issues, saying he was advised not to discuss it, but his play was on prime last night and his teammates noticed.
"He's versatile. You saw what he can do with the ball in his hands on the punt return game and on offense, so when we get him on defense, you know he's a fast guy who can cover guys," Ihedigbo said. "We put him in position to do his best, and he does."
"I loved him out there running around," said linebacker Rob Ninkovich. "He's is a great athlete. He was a quarterback in college and came here as a receiver. He's playing defense now and returning punts. With some of the things that have happened in the secondary, with guys going down and others having to step up, he's done a great job in taking that role and going out there to do the best he can."
