Patriots Blog: Chung Hits Practice Field
FOXBORO (CBS) - All week long the New England Patriots have talked about playing without Patrick Chung.
The safety had surgery on his right thumb earlier this week and guys were getting ready to go at the Buffalo Bills without him.
The thought was Sergio Brown and Josh Barrett would have to step up and contribute a little more than they usually do. Sources even went so far to say that Patrick has been ruled out for Sunday's game.
Well, Chung suited up and was on the field for the media portion of practice on Friday. He was wearing a hard cast over his wrist and thumb, but was out there with the team after missing practice both Wednesday and Thursday.

Chung was in the locker room before the Pats took the field Friday, and when reporters asked him if he was going to play and he responded with a smile.
"I'm keeping it low," he said.
Chung played every defensive snap in the season opener in Miami, and played until he was injured in the third quarter last week against San Diego.
So far in 2011, Chung has 14 tackles, a sack and one pass deflection.
