Belichick Gets Testy With Gronkowski Questions: 'He's Been Out There Every Day'
BOSTON (CBS) - Though Monday was the first day the collected media was able to see Rob Gronkowski out on the field, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is adamant the tight end has been doing similar workouts since camp began.
Belichick became quite testy with the NFL Network's Albert Breer when the reporter continually asked him about Gronk, who is currently on the active/physically unable to perform list after undergoing numerous surgeries this offseason.
"He's been out here every day. He's been in camp the whole [time], he hasn't missed a day in camp,'' Belichick said in response to Breer's question about how Gronkowski looked during Monday's session. "He was here the first day in camp. He's been doing the same thing every day.''
"For those of us who have been here, he's been doing the same thing every day," said Belichick.
After all of that, it is only fitting that Gronkowski missed practice on Tuesday. On Monday, he was seen on the lower practice field working with strength and conditioning coaches in a t-shirt and shorts, making some speculate he was moving along quickly in his comeback.

Working out or not, the Patriots will have a decision to make in regards to Gronkowski ahead of Saturday evening's roster cutdowns. NFL teams will have to trim their roster from 75 to 53 players by 6 p.m., and the Patriots will have to decide whether to keep Gronkowski on the active roster or place him on the reserve/PUP list -- meaning he'd be inactive until after Week 6.
Before showing his displeasure with Breer's Gronkowski questioning, Belichick did give the reporter an answer on what goes into the decision on whether or not to place Gronkowski on the PUP list.
"Every decision we make on a player comes down to two things,'' the coach said. "What's best for the player and what's best for the team. When they're the same, it's easy. When they're not, then something has to give and you have to make a call one way or another. That's the way it is with everything."

"Each situation is independent: it depends on the situation, it depends on what your other options are, what the injury is, how long are you're talking about, what the expectations are, what kind of depth you have at that position," Belichick continued. "You can go on and on. Each situation is different."
