Arrington Sends Message To Fake Fans
FOXBORO (CBS) – Patriots cornerback Kyle Arrington was one of the few members of the New England defense to address the media after their 24-20 loss to the Giants.
"They just made more plays than we did. The offense put it in our hands and we just couldn't make enough plays," he told the media Sunday after the loss.
He also had a message for fans, who booed the Patriots throughout the frustrating loss on Sunday.
Arrington had an up and down game, picking off Eli Manning in the end zone in the third quarter for his NFL-leading fifth interception of the season, and then getting called for a 35-yard pass interference call that led to a late Giants touchdown.
Highs & Lows: Another Ugly Loss
A former Patriot said Monday that fans pay for their tickets, so they can voice their displeasure whenever they want.
"What Kyle has to understand is that they buy a ticket and they got a right to say whatever they want to say," former Patriots linebacker Rosevelt Colvin told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher and Rich.
"You as a professional have to continue to go out each and every week, prepare yourself to play as best you can on that particular game day and give them something that they are excited about."
"Regardless if they show up or not you're still getting paid to play so subjecting his opinion to Twitter about fans he wants back, win or lose, is not going to help the situation. What's going to help is better preparation and better execution on game day," said Colvin.
While Arrington's message for the fans will be on the twitter-verse forever, he is looking to forget the end of Sunday's loss.
"Playing corner in this business, you've got to have a short memory," the third-year cornerback said.
"You can't help good throws and good catches sometimes and that's all I really have to say about that."
