Patriots Announce Dates For Start Of Training Camp
BOSTON (CBS) -- The countdown to kickoff for the upcoming NFL season has now officially begun.
The New England Patriots announced the start date for this summer's training camp, which will get underway on July 23 when veterans report for duty. Bill Belichick and crew will hold their first training camp practice the following day, Thursday, July 24, at 9:15 a.m. behind Gillette Stadium.
The daily practice sessions are free and open to the public. The Pats will practice once daily and have confirmed that they will be conducting practices beginning at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27. More dates and times will be posted on the Patriots website throughout camp.
This year marks the 55th annual training camp for the Patriots, including their 12th consecutive camp at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots also confirmed their joint practice dates with the Philadelphia Eagles, who will be in Foxboro on Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 13 for a pair of practices prior to their preseason game that Friday. The two practices are currently scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. each day.
The practice schedule throughout training camp is tentative and subject to change, so the team urges fans who plan to attend practices to check the Patriots website for daily updates. Fans can also call the training camp hotline for updates by dialing (508) 549-0001.
