Patriots Announce 2013 Preseason Opponents; Open In Philadelphia
BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots' 2013 preseason opponents were announced on Thursday, with the Patriots opening things up on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dates for all of their preseason games have not been announced yet, but the Pats will follow their follow their preseason opener with a nationally-televised home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday, Aug. 16 at 8:00 p.m.. This marks the third straight season the Patriots play against the Bucs in the preseason.

Tampa Bay will also visit Gillette Stadium during the regular season for the first time since 2005.
Following their tilt with Tampa Bay, the Patriots will then travel to Detroit to play the Lions and return home to close out the preseason against New York Giants.

The Patriots and Giants will play each other in the preseason finale for the ninth straight season and for the 23rd time overall in the preseason, the most frequent preseason opponent for New England.
