Patrick Kane Plays For The Bruins, According To The Toronto Sun Players Poll

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Toronto Sun must know something we do not.

The publication posted polls of both NHL players and fans, and the results were more-or-less predictable. But, as people on the Internet are wont to do, readers immediately found a glaring mistake and focused on that one thing. In the poll for "Who has made the biggest impression on you?" the infographic lists Hart Trophy favorite Patrick Kane as a member of the Boston Bruins.

I mean, I'd take it, but...pretty sure that is incorrect.

The person thanking Postmedia for this gaffe the most should be former Bruin Phil Kessel, who was voted the NHL's most overrated player for the second year in a row with a whopping 29 percent of the vote. It's a fair distinction, considering his baffling under-performance playing alongside Sidney Crosby and/or Evgeni Malkin in Pittsburgh.

The Bruins do legitimately make the cut in these polls. Zac Rinaldo was voted the league's dirtiest player with 25 percent, edging out Brad Marchand (22 percent). Marchand, however, finished tied with Zdeno Chara (along with Anaheim's Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler) as the "biggest pain in the ass to play against" with 11 percent each. Appropriately enough, Perry and Kesler would both make fantastic Bruins.

Patrice Bergeron also made the "pain in the ass" cut with 9 percent, which is awesome considering the list is littered with more physical players, whereas Bergeron frustrates opponents with relentless forechecking and perfect positioning.

But, alas, everyone will focus on that Kane gaffe. And around here, hope that it comes true.
