Patrice Bergeron To Play For Bruins After Wife Delivers First Child Wednesday Morning
BOSTON (CBS) -- Patrice Bergeron is perfect in many ways, and his son is already following in his father's footsteps.
The 30-year-old B's center and his wife welcomed their first child to the world on Wednesday, and Zach Bergeron was kind enough to come at a time that still allowed Patrice to play in Wednesday night's game at the TD Garden.
"He is playing tonight. He's in," B's president Cam Neely said Wednesday afternoon on Felger & Massasrotti.
Bergeron has five points in five games thus far for the Bruins this season. He put up four of those points in the Bruins' most recent game Saturday night in Arizona, when he scored a goal and tallied three assists.
Bergeron led the Bruins in scoring last season with 55 points in 81 games.
The Bruins will be without winger Matt Beleskey when they take on the Flyers on Wednesday night.
Tune in Wednesday night for Flyers-Bruins. Pregame coverage begins on 98.5 The Sports Hub at 7:30 p.m., and Dave Goucher and Bob Beers have the call of the game at 8 p.m.
