Patrice Bergeron Advances To Finals In NHL 15 Cover Vote, Opposed By P.K. Subban
BOSTON (CBS) -- The voting competition for the NHL 15 cover athlete has come to this: Patrice Bergeron vs. P.K. Subban. Montreal vs. Boston.
Let the tweeting begin.
That tweeting is well underway, after Bergeron received more votes than Blues forward T.J. Oshie in semifinal voting and advanced to the finals after Sunday. Subban received more votes than Kings defenseman Drew Doughty, thereby pitting the two rivals against each other in the finals.
Now, it's up to the fans to vote for which player they want to see on the cover of the next NHL video game.
Fans can vote for Bergeron online or on Twitter and Instagram by using #NHL15Bergeron. Each tweet with that hashtag counts as one vote.
Subban's Canadiens beat Bergeron's Bruins in the second round of the playoffs, but B's fans can exact at least a small sliver of revenge by getting the Bruins' alternate captain on the cover.
Subban may have a clear advantage in the Twitter department, given that he's been using his own Twitter account and its near-400,000 followers to promote the vote. Bergeron does not have a Twitter account, but the official Bruins account has picked up the slack in that regard.
Bergeron defeated Erik Karlsson in the first round of voting, while Subban bested former Bruins winger and current Maple Leafs star Phil Kessel.
Voting in the finals will take place through June 1.
