Owl Found On Salem Sidewalk
SALEM (CBS) - A baby owl was found along busy Canal Street Sunday.
Police say the baby Northern Saw-whet owl was lying on the sidewalk near a car wash. Patrice Mehu brought the owl to Salem Police station.
Salem Police believe the owl had an injured wing.
The Northern Saw-whet owl, a species that's small even when full-grown, is native to forested areas in the Northeast.
Police brought the owl to wildlife rehabilitation specialist David Taylor in Byfield. Taylor was planning on bringing the owl to a veterinarian to nurse it back to health.
