Over/Under: 18.5 Interceptions By Patriots Defense In 2014
BOSTON (CBS) - It was an Over/Under Tuesday night on The Adam Jones Show's "Game of Jones," with Rich Keefe filling in for Adam Jones.
In this latest edition, Keefe predicts the Over/Under on the following topics:
- Percentage of snaps Ryan Mallett plays in Houston: 39.5 %
"If it's over, that means the Patriots get a sixth round pick, and if it's under the Patriots get a seventh round pick. I'm going to say under," said Keefe. "I don't think Ryan Mallett is that good, I don't think Ryan Fitzpatrick is that good, and I don't think Tom Savage is that good. But, Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starter right now... He's not great, but he's serviceable. I think he'll start for a chunk of the season. If they do turn it over to someone else, wouldn't it be Tom Savage, who they spent a fourth round pick on, and not Mallett, who is a sixth or seventh round pick?"
- Touchdowns by Gronk on Sunday in Miami: 0.5
"Over, give me one whole touchdown. He is basically a touchdown per game. If he plays, even if he's limited, they get down inside the 10 then Gronk is in there, and that's who Brady is throwing to," said Keefe. "If he plays you're almost crazy to say he doesn't get a touchdown."
- Interceptions by Patriots defense this season: 18.5
"I'm very high on the Patriots secondary in particular, and then you throw in the linebackers who could add a few picks," said Keefe. "Revis might not have a big number on his own because they'll be throwing away from him a lot.
"But just over one per game, I'll take the over."
- Most touchdowns thrown this season: 50
"You throw in the rule changes, or the emphasis is the word, I'm going to take the over," said Keefe, "and I think it's going to be Drew Brees."
- Patriots who make the Pro Bowl this season: 5.5
"If I'm saying they're better than the Broncos, then they're the best team in the AFC. None of these guys will play, because I think they'll be going to the Super Bowl, but how many will be named to the Pro Bowl? I'll take over 5.5," said Keefe. "Brady, Revis, Gronk are all shoe-ins assuming Gronk is healthy. Chandler Jones, Jerod Mayo and Matthew Slater, so there is six. Maybe an offensive lineman squeezes his way on and someone else, so I'll take the over."
