Overseas Threat Puts Boston's Jewish Community On Alert
BOSTON (CBS) - Leaders in Boston's Jewish community are warning local synagogues and Jewish religious institutions to be on guard because of possible terrorist threats overseas.
"Maintaining relationships with your police department is important. It's also an opportunity to make sure your security equipment is working. It's an opportunity to remind people who use your facility, if they see something out of the ordinary, they need to speak up about it," Robert Trestan, a security expert with the Anti-Defamation League told WBZ.

The warning comes just as Iran showcases its first nuclear fuel rod being inserted into a reactor signaling the country is ramping up enriched uranium production. Iran is thought to be behind several recent attacks including one on the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi.
In Boston, police say there is no specific threat, but the general international threat has prompted extra patrols around a synagogue in the West End, also the Israeli consulate in the Back Bay, and the Jewish Philanthropies on High Street.
