Outage Shuts Down Plymouth's Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant
BOSTON (CBS/AP) — A massive snowstorm packing hurricane-force winds has knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of customers in Massachusetts and has shuttered a nuclear power plant.

The Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant in Plymouth shut down after losing off-site power. Authorities say there's no threat to public safety.
Pilgrim automatically shut down after losing offsite power at 9:17 p.m. on Friday. The plant's diesel generators are currently supplying power to plant equipment.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is monitoring the power plant.
