Ortiz Files For Arbitration At $16.5M, Red Sox File At $12.65M
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox and David Ortiz failed to reach an agreement prior to the arbitration deadline, according to CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman.
Heyman reports that Ortiz filed at $16.5 million, while the Red Sox filed at $12.65 million.
David Ortiz had a solid bounceback season in 2011, finishing with a .309 average, 29 homers, and 96 RBI.
Ortiz had been seeking a multi-year deal.
