Oprah Winfrey Spotted Shopping In Framingham

BOSTON (CBS) – One of the most famous women in the world was shopping in Framingham Thursday.

Oprah Winfrey tweeted pictures of herself and three teenage girls inside Target and Bed Bath and Beyond.

"Dorm shopping Bed Bath and Beyond who new so many pillow choices," she said in one tweet.

"Ladies start your shopping. Finishing up at Target. Classes can't start soon enough for me," she said in another.

"She was just doing some shopping. Just like you and I, they want to shop," Bed Bath and Beyond assistant manager Ken Maynard told the MetroWest Daily News.

Maynard would not say what they bought or how much Winfrey spent.

It's not exactly clear why she was in Framingham and the girls were not identified.

But back on August 3, Winfrey was at Boston College meeting with seven young women from South Africa who are part of the first graduating class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.

All seven are headed to college in the fall. BC is running a summer program to help them prepare for the experience.
