Starting Monday, volunteers can "adopt a letter" at the station which means they will buy the items on the list. The post office, will make sure the presents get to the right home.
The post office has been participating in this program for the past 100 years.
"One particular letter we got was from a child, couldn't have been any more than 8," mail carrier Bob Dantone told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karen Twomey. "He sent a $20 bill and said' my parents can't afford Christmas this year, can you make sure you buy some gifts with this for them?'"
